Flower Preservation

We believe that you take away 3 things from your wedding (besides your spouse):

  1. Your wedding ring. A token of your love that you will carry forever.

  2. Your photos. Something that you will treasure for a lifetime.

  3. Your bouquet. And the only way to keep this is preservation.

All of our brides save 10% on preservation if booked with wedding date reservation!

How it works….

.Step 1: Check to see if your date is available. With the number of weddings that we complete each year and the dedication to perfection that we strive for, we can only take a very select few preservation projects each year. Contact sarah@petal-company.com to ensure your date is available.

Step 2: Secure your date. There is a 50% non-refundable deposit due at the time of reservation. This ensures that all products to complete your preservation are ordered in a timely manner. This total deposit is applied to your total amount due at the time of drop-off.

Step 3: After your date is booked you will be given a guide on how to ship or deliver your flowers. Overnight shipping is recommended and we suggest using UPS. For best results, please ship or deliver your florals within 1-2 days after your event. Delivery can be done to our flower farm (by appointment only) located in Plainwell, MI.

Step 4: After your flowers arrive at our preservation site, I will begin the drying process. This takes on average 2 weeks to fully dry your flowers. As the drying process is taking place I will confirm your design with you to ensure we have a full understanding of your completed vision.

Step 5: After your flowers are fully dried, we begin the resin process. To ensure a beautifully finished product we do this in very small increments. This usually takes 4-6 weeks to complete. We will contact as soon as your product is complete!

FAQs

How long does it normally take to receive my keepsake? During our busiest times of the year it takes us 8-10 weeks to return your keepsake. Due to the drying time this may vary based on the state of your flowers during delivery.

Will you send my flowers back that you didn’t use? Yes! If you would like us to return your dried flowers that were not used in your keepsake, please let us know and we will ensure that they are returned to you.

Will my flowers look the same after they are dried? Flowers handle the drying process extremely well! To dry all of our flowers I use a silica gel powder to dry them. We are patient with our drying process, which makes a big difference!  Some white flowers will “yellow” during the drying and resin process. Blush roses can turn more mauve. Succulents and hypericum berries do not dry well due to the ability to hold moisture.

What are some of the things I can expect during the process? During the resin process you may notice “bruising” on your flowers. These make a clear or brown spot on your flowers. It is very normal to see this during the drying process. Bruising is caused from the handling of flowers from the suppliers, the florist and even during your wedding day. Be sure to handle your bouquet with care on your wedding day and keep it in water as much as possible.

How do I get my flowers to you? The safest way is to drop them off at our store front or our flower farm. You can also overnight ship them via UPS to our farm.
